Recording set-up per Konrad 2005: Inter-electrode distance 2 cm (centre to centre) · Skin impedance: aim < 10 kΩ, up to 30 kΩ acceptable, above 50 kΩ prepare again · Band-pass 10–500 Hz · Sampling ≥ 1000 Hz · no notch filter

M. Flexor Digitorum Superficialis
Literature
- Position
- On the flexor side of the mid-forearm, approximately three quarters of the distance from the elbow to the wrist; flex only the fingers (not the wrist) and record where the movement is felt most clearly
- Orientation
- Parallel to the muscle fibres, 2 cm inter-electrode distance - quasi-specific site, crosstalk from the neighbouring finger flexors
- Signal check
- Flex the fingers while avoiding wrist flexion.
- Crosstalk from
- flexor carpi radialis — crosstalk is certain if placed too radially
- MVC test
- Seated or kneeling in front of a bench with the forearm resting on a stable support.
- Fixation
- Forearm fully supported; wrist free to work against the resistance.
- Resistance
- Manual resistance, a barbell or a cable/belt against the wrist or hand.
