Recording set-up per Konrad 2005: Inter-electrode distance 2 cm (centre to centre) · Skin impedance: aim < 10 kΩ, up to 30 kΩ acceptable, above 50 kΩ prepare again · Band-pass 10–500 Hz · Sampling ≥ 1000 Hz · no notch filter

M. Adductor Magnus
Literature
- Position
- At 60% of the distance from the greater trochanter to the lateral knee joint line, in the middle of the muscle belly between the posterior border of gracilis and the anterior border of the medial hamstrings
- Orientation
- Along the muscle fibres, 2 cm inter-electrode distance. Borders were located by ultrasound in the source - without ultrasound this is an approximation and crosstalk from adjacent adductors is possible
- Signal check
- Press the knees together (adduction); walking.
- Crosstalk from
- adductor longus and gracilis — Criswell describes only this group site for the adductors, no separate position for the magnus · vastus medialis · hamstrings
- MVC test
- Supine or seated with flexed legs; a big, stiff roll cushion is pressed between the knees.
- Fixation
- The cushion itself provides the rigid resistance; pelvis stable.
- Resistance
- Isometric adduction against the cushion.
